Some people pay over $1,000 per year just so they can watch regular TV (not including paid channels).
I got my own Cable set up about a year ago (they charged for installation too!), and while TV is entertaining, I still can't watch what I want when I want. Someone told me about NetFlix and I also checked it out. It's nice to stream movies, and whatnot... but it also blew a hole in my pocket. To add to that, I just lost my job of two years because my position was "phased out" ie: a computer took my job! Now I'm a parent of two great kids, and my husband also works, but we literally can't afford to pay for Cable on minimum wage while I look for another job.
Cable TV was fun while it lasted, but 11 months and over $1,000 later, I found Streamfy. HAHAHAHA! Eat that cable company! It couldn't have come at a better time. Finally there's some people looking out for the little guy.
These media boxes are awesome. I've heard of other boxes where you can get pre-programmed shows and movies, etc. for a one-time cost. The only problem I ever saw with them was that if I wanted an upgrade, or new shows and movies, I had to send the box back for an upgrade. What a pain. It's why I didn't get some sort of deal like this before.
Streamfy though, these guys are new to the Media box game, but they came with a wonderful idea. Why not stream all the media directly? No upgrades, and still just a one-time fee. Besides that, it looks pretty darn slick!
So now I have all the shows and movies I want, when I want them, and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg to enjoy the luxury of my entertainment. I wrote this blog entry to share my joy and hopefully together we can stick it to those Cable companies and expensive alternatives.
